Have you written your sponsored child this month?
I always send calendars for the next year to my children at the beginning of the year. I remind the older ones that the new year brings a great opportunity to set new goals for their lives. This year, I am challenging them to read through the Bible in one year. You can print out a plan to send, but I simply tell them that by reading just 4 chapters each day, they will easily meet the goal!
Through this reading, I can pray for them as Paul prayed for the Ephesians--"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe." Blessings!
Love the calendar idea! But I'm curious how you cross the language barrier with your sponsored children when you write to them?
ReplyDeleteI think the calendars will be enjoyed, even though they can't read them, because of the colorful pictures. Little things like that can really brighten up the homes they live in, where there is often little beauty. For Spanish and French speaking countries, the calendars should still be easy to use.
